Programme
Independent verification
Every EPD SETU declaration is reviewed by an approved third-party verifier — the foundation of credibility.
How verification works
Step 1
Application & admin check
EPD owner submits a verification application and project details; the Secretariat checks completeness and eligibility.
Step 2
Verifier assignment
Programme Operator assigns or confirms an independent approved verifier and checks their independence and competence.
Step 3
LCA & EPD review
The verifier reviews the LCA report and EPD draft against ISO 14025, ISO 14040/44, the GPI, and the applicable PCR.
Step 4
Final review and conclusion of verification
The verifier issues findings; the EPD owner corrects as needed, and the verifier issues the final verification report and signed statement.
Indicative timeline
Simple EPDs: 4 – 6 weeks
Complex EPDs: 8 – 12 weeks
Registration & publication: typically within 1 week after verification.
